Groovin'

I am thinking of joining a dance class here in Phnom Penh. I've been wanting to do this even when we were still in KL. But as always, it gets pushed out of my priority list.

I am not a very good dancer but I do like to dance. I miss dancing. It's been ages since I last went to a bar or a dancing place. I like to groove to the music again.

I googled dancing classes in Phnom Penh and I was surprised to find several dancing classes! There are different dancing classes. There's contemporary jazz, street jazz, hip hop, capoeira, and of course ballroom dancing. LOL!

I think I'd go for the jazz or even street jazz. The prices are not too ridiculous. It's about $5/class or $10/week for a two-session a week.

I better buy a dancing shoes now!

I did it!

I went to the gym this morning! I was still groggy when I made my way from the first floor to the 5th floor of our building by stairs! It was already a work out. LOL!

Unfortunately the treadmill was still not working. So I used the stationary bike.

I originally intended to stay for 30-45 minutes but just 10 minutes into the bike, I was sweating like a pig. I have never perspired like that before. But it was good. Sweating/perspiring is good, it eliminates dirt.

When I still had severe pimples (more like acne), I wished that sweating/perspiring would eliminate my pimples forever, sort of like an acne scar treatment. But of course, it didn't. Hehehe.

So anyway, I compromised and stayed on the bike for 20 minutes. It was exhausting. But it felt good to be exercising again.

I hope to be back again tomorrow. Or if not, I'll just use my jumping rope again.

Blabbering like a drunk

I love our wifi! It's so fast, I am inspired to blog more. LOL!

It's raining hard outside but I don't mind. Rain dumpens my mood but not right now. I am happy. Happy because I believe we made the right decision in choosing our apartment right now.

It's new and has lovely furnitures. It has nice amenities too. A swimming pool would have made everything perfect! But I am not complaining.

The gym and the rooftop are great! I cannot emphasize it enough. Hehehe.

I only need to prepare party invitations and we're set for a barbeque party! Hmm..maybe on my birthday? It's next month already.

Whoa! I am going to be 31 soon. Cool. Hahaha!!!

When you're happy everything seems great, isn't it?

The new apartment

We moved in to our apartment this morning. We're still unpacking and we need to buy some more things.

But as promised, here's some pictures of our place =)

Our bedroom. It has a terrace. Well, we do have two terraces in our apartment =)

The kitchen area.

The toilet and bath and the laundry area.

The living room. To my friends who are coming over, the couch is very big and comfortable. LOL! So please visit us soon. Hehehe.

Food temptation

I have been eating a lot since we arrived in Phnom Penh. Okay, I have to be honest now. I have been eating a lot even before moving here. I have been stuffing myself silly for the past month and a half. I haven't even exercised. And now I feel guilty. But it's only a tinge of guilt. LOL! I have abandoned my project weight loss for almost two months now.

But I vow to eat healthy food and exercise again once we've settled down. I might even have to try Colonix for a total colon cleanse. But for now, I am enjoying these yummy treat here in Phnom Penh.

We've chosen

The apartment, that is. We're moving tomorrow morning. We chose Apartment 1 - the one bedroom apartment.

I guess our guests will have to stay on the couch again. LOL! Sorry guys. But the couch is very cute and it looked comfortable anyways. Hehehe!!

We decided to get this apartment because everything is new. And the porcelain tile is absolutely lovely!

But what did it for hubby is the plasma TV! LOL!

And we do have a very lovely rooftop where EJ can bike around and we can have parties absolutely free. It even comes with griller. Perfect!

I can't wait to move tomorrow. Will post pictures about the new place soon.

A1 vs A2

We're in Phnom Penh! So far so good.

We've checked out apartments already. I liked two of the apartments we've seen. But I couldn't make up my mind. It's a toss between a one-bedroom (Apartment 1) with nice furnitures and a two-bedroom (Apartment 2) with so-so furnitures.

Apartment 1 one has treadmills on the 4th, 5th and 6th floor. Apartment 2 has none.

Apartment 1 has a nice rooftop where we can do barbeque and stuff. Apartment 2 has none.

But apartment 2 is way bigger than apartment 1. The master's bedroom is huge , we can even have one more bed if we want!

I am partial to apartment 1 because everything is new and furnitures and equipment are nice. Hello 42-inch plasma TV! But the fact remains that it's a one bedroom apartment. We're thinking of having a house help so a one-bedroom apartment is out of the question. Plus, we won't have rooms for visitors if we take apartment 1.

We were supposed to transfer today to apartment 1 but decided to take one more day to think more.

Let's see what we come up.

The Spa

While in Manila, I always find time to visit a Spa. But everytime I'm there, I always end up in one of the spa in Megamall's 5th floor.

There's nothing wrong of course. But I noticed that the spa I frequent isn't being properly maintained. So I looked for another spa. From my hotel's directory list, I found one in Podium's 5th floor.

It's called The Spa. Actually I've heard and read about this spa before. I've even seen one somewhere in Libis. But I have never tried it.

So when I found out they have a branch in Podium I made a mental note to visit it.

After a very tiring commute to Carriedo to get hubby's NBI clearance, I decided to drop by The Spa first before going back to the hotel.

I was impressed. It looked like a very expensive spa based from the design of the place. But it was actually affordable. For a one-hour massage in a common room, it's only P850. But I tried the "executive room" for P1,100. It was actually a solo or private room.

I was asked if I wanted a sauna but I declined. So I assumed they have one. I only took a shower. The locker area and the bathroom was nice.

Before proceeding to the masage room, I was brought to a "waiting lounge" where I was served a ginger tea and given a magazine to read.

The massage room itself was also nice and spacious. I have aversion to small rooms. I am a little claustrophobic.

My therapist was good. All in all I had a very pleasant first time experience.

I am definitelty coming back next time I find myself in Ortigas.

Travel worries

I was so fidgety flying back to KL yesterday. Nervous that I'd develop a fever or my son would. That would mean we'd be quarantined upon arriving in KL. And that would mean our travel to Phnom Penh would be postponed. Thank goodness, we were both okay. No fever at all.

We just had dinner and I crashed in our bed (I wished it was a sleep number bed though) immediately. I was so exhausted!

I woke up today feeling refreshed and a lot better. I still have cold but it's not bothering me much anymore.

Hopefully before we travel to Phnom Penh on Tuesday, my son and I would be in good health.

Drinking like a fish

I had a sore throat the other day. I panicked because it is one of the symptoms of swine flu. I had a flu shot last week but having read that there are more than 200 cases of swine flu here in the Philippines, I still went to see the doctor immediately.

Thank goodness, it is just a regular sore throat and cold. I am taking medication now and drinking a lot of water. I actually drank almost 5 liters of water yesterday.

I wanted to stay the whole day at the hotel and just rest but I needed an external card reader yesterday so I went to a computer shop in Megamall. I was surprised to see that this store still has no barcode scanner. You have to line up so you can be entertained. After you get your product, they write a receipt! It's no biggie but it's a little inconvenient to customers especially if the line is long. Oh well.

Anyway, I am feeling a lot better this morning. I will continue to drink like a fish and hope this cold will go away before I fly back to KL on Saturday.
