Unnecessary Expense

I passed by a Nike store this morning. Their banner says 50% discount on all items. Lured by the numbers I went inside. Actually the discount ranges up to 50% discount. Some items were marked down by 10%, 20%, 30% and of course 50%. I saw a fab sleeveless shirt. A perfert pair for my new Nike pants. I tried it on and it looked great on me. The price tag reads RM26 ($8 approx). Divine! This is a steal, I thought. But before I can pay, a realization hits me. Is this really a good buy? Sure, it's 50% off. It looks good on me. But..do I really need it? Hmmm..Mentally I took an inventory of my gym shirts. I still have around 5 - 6 gym shirts which are still in good condition. So I put the sleeveless shirt down and headed for the exit. I realized that it may have been cheaper but I don't really need it at the moment. Not even in the next two months or so. So a 50% discount is not always a good buy. Not if you don't need it yet. It would just be another unnecessary expense. That's what I think anyway. Unless I'm suddenly hit by another depresion or insanity.

My Nike Trainer Pants

I was supposed to buy a new gym attire at the end of this month as reward. But all my gym outfit are still in the laundry service. I couldn't afford to miss one day at the gym (duh!).

I thought I wouldn't fit in a Large size anymore..horrors!!! But apparently I still did. What I love about my new Nike pants is that it hides my bulges at the waist. Yipeee!


I got a RM10 rebate for buying the pants which I used to buy the socks. The "kuripot" in me went home happy. Not only did I get a good pants, I got a good bargain too.

Now I am excited to go to the gym tomorrow!

Four Kilos lighter

I am flabbergasted. I am only four kgs lighter than my hubby! *gasp* My hubby is 5'8" and I am only 5'5". It means I am definitely heavier than him.

I finally bought a bathroom scale yesterday. I know that I have gained weight since January judging from my old clothes (too snug). But I didn't think I have gained 10 lbs!

I am going to make this losing weight a serious project. I have already started to go back to the gym. I also have started to eat lesser. Next, I am going to do stretching activities and of course crunches.

I have lost a lot of weight before, I know I can do it again. It is just a matter of discipline on my part.

Ha!

Finally my own domain name. I was hesitant to do it at first. It's because I have to shell out ten bucks. Which means, 2 java frapp less at starbucks...hehehe.

But still I did it.

And I'm quite happy and excited too.

Hopefully, I'll be inspired to write more.

Gym Rat

Hopefully! I started going back to the gym again two days ago. It feels pretty good. I know, I know. I hope this time will last longer. The first week is always exciting but I can't seem to sustain it. But I am not going to make excuses this time. No more late nights surfing, blogging for me though. I only use the threadmill at the gym. I stay there for around 45 minutes. Next week, I'll try to stay for 60 minutes. Thirty minutes in the threadmill and another thirty minutes in the "stepper" (am not sure if it is that right name). I should buy a bathroom scale though so I can check if my going to the gym has any effect. I promised myself that I would buy a new gym outfit at the end of this month. ~@~ We had a lovely time at Langkawi last weekend. For the review and the pics, check it out here.

Weight goal for the year

New Year's resolution doesn't really work for me. But I still did make one at the start of this year promising myself that I'd stick to my resolution. Almost half of the year has passed but I haven't made any real progress. So I am going to change all that. I am going to set a personal goal each month. And I am going to reward myself if I achieve my goal. This month's goal is to lose 2 pounds! (And I guess the months thereafter too) It sounds easy peasy in writing. But based from experience, it's not easy at all. I haven't stepped on a weighing scale since January but judging from my clothes, I'd hazard a guess that I have gained another 5-6lbs since then. Everytime I put on my clothes, I get really depressed. When I try to look in the mirror, I hate what I see. Sure I went to gym the first one and a half months we arrived here in KL. But after that I slacked off again. Nobody to blame but me. I tried to go back to the gym but I find it hard to wake up at 7! I guess I shouldn't stay long blogging and surfing. So that is my goal for this month. Ultimately, the goal is to be able to wear size 8. I"ll post the progress. If not here, try to visit me at mumsified.

Smart people never get bored

I don't know where I heard or read that line but it had stuck in my mind all these years. I used think I am smart because I never felt bored. If ever I have nothing to do, I can always just read and I wouldn't be bored anymore. But lately, I am always bored. And I feel guilty because I am bored. Does that make sense? I also thought that shopping will kill boredom. But I can only shop so much. At the end of the day, I feel guilty for spending on things that I don't really need. A friend suggested that I should try cross stitching. But the thought of it just makes me more bored. I have nothing against it. It's just that it is not me. Oh well.
