Traffic

Driving here in Phnom Penh can be very frustrating and irritating. At least that's how I would feel if I were driving.

Our driver is very nice. But when he drives, it's a different story. He's not really reckless. He just doesn't know that traffic rules should be followed. Sigh.

There was one instance when we were almost hit by a Landcruiser in an intersection. I can't remember anymore who's fault was it. From then on I told him to drive slowly and carefully.

For a small city, the traffic can sometimes get really bad. I sometimes wonder what will happen if emergency medical assistance is needed somewhere urgently. Will the motorists give way to an ambulance?

I am going to enroll in a driving class soon. But I am not sure anymore if I want to drive here. Maybe we shouldn't let go of our driver yet.
