Imaginary savings

I have another project. Oh yes, there are so many that it sometimes make me dizzy remembering each. LOL

Seriously, this is my third project. My first one was the "lose weight" project. I have some lapses but I am doing great. After a brief vacation in the Philippines, I am back to working on this project again. I have already lost the two kilos that I have gained in Philippines. And I am still working on losing more, at least 10 more pounds.

My second project was the "losyang no more" project. It's still in progress. Although I don't get to post more pictures here because I always forget to take pictures of my outfit. And when I do remember, it's already late. It's either it's too crumpled or has been soiled already. Ugh.

My third and latest project involves money, albeit imaginary. I am planning to make this real soon. But for now, I am having fun earning/saving imaginary money.

What's it all about?

I drink coffee from Starbucks almost everyday. Sometimes, I even have two tall cafe lattes (low fat of course! hehe). Although drinking one cup of coffee a day is good (it has antioxidants), I realized that it's eating up a sizable amount of money too.

Take this:

1 order of tall (smallest) cafe latte in a day - RM10
In one month - RM300
In one year - RM3600

Roughly that's $1,000/year or P46,000! That's a lot of money isn't it? Well, at least for me.

So I have decided to cut back on my coffee binges, hahaha! And to make all this fun, this is where my latest project comes in.

If I crave for a coffee and I stop myself from actually buying it, I put an imaginary RM10 in my imaginary savings account. But if I do buy the coffee, I deduct twice the actual amount in my imaginary savings.

I started this last Saturday. And I am proud to say I have a RM30 sitting in my account now. It would have been RM50 yesterday but I succumb to my cravings and bought a coffee yesterday.

Fun, isn't it? LOL

It make me look like I have nothing better to do in real life than do this imaginary exercises. I do! I have actually a lot of work: all house chores, taking care of a child, working on my assignments, working on my two other projects, reading business books, planning for our future, etc, etc. Hahaha! But these projects of mine keep me on my toes. It's fun and I really do enjoy doing them.

So there. That's my latest craziness! LOL

Bad habit

Since I came back from the vacation my days are filled up to the brim. But the funny thing is that I still find time to interact at Facebook. Hahaha!

I am afraid it has become a daily habit that is hard to shake off. Especially that my high school friends have joined already.

I noticed that I am not the only one getting hooked on FB. I think some of my friends are logged in to FB 24/7. At least I am not that hooked yet. Hahaha!

But seriously, I am loving this social networking site. I have connected with my long lost high school friends and it's been great interacting with them again. I have created a page for us to discuss our upcoming reunion and it's working great. We're all looking forward to our grandest reunion ever!

Opps..before I get carried away, I need to finish my assignments first, starting with system memory. Otherwise, I won't have any money to contribute for the reunion. LOL

Back to eating reality

When I was in Manila, people who know me were really amazed with my weight loss. They kept on asking how much weight I have lost and how many months did it take me to shed off those weight. When I told them I lost more than 20lbs in about three months, they couldn't believe it. One friend even asked if I used diet pills. Hahaha! I was very very flattered. It made me feel like I was so skinny already even if I wasn't/am not. I mentioned in my previous post that I know I have gained weight even without stepping on the scale. And it's true! The first thing I did when I got inside our apartment here in KL was to check how many kilos did I put on. I gained two kgs/5lbs in a span of two weeks. Unbelievable! The next day, I was immediately on diet and back to my exercises routine. I don't regret that I indulged in Filipino food while I was in Manila. After all I only get to eat those once in a while. The important thing now is I know what to do now to lose those pounds I gained.

Short but sweet

I have been here in Manila less than two weeks but I know I have gained weight already even without stepping on a weighing scale. The day after we arrived here we went to Shangrila. My sister in law "loaned" us one of their help to look after EJ so hubby and I can be free to do whatever we needed to do. After depositing EJ and Ann at Gymboree, hubby and I went separate ways. He went to a barber's shop to have a much needed haircut and a back massage. And I went to Gap store (wherelse? hehehe) to window-shop. I saw a nice trousers and I couldn't resist trying it on especially since it was on sale. When I asked for a size 8, the sales staff said they only have size 6. I was ready to go out but the sales staff said I should try it one first. She said I looked like a size 6. I said, no way! But I still took the trousers and went inside their fitting room. LOL Surprise, surprise!!! Size 6 was just right for me. Either I have shrunk before coming here of size 6 here in Manila is bigger. Needless to say, I bought the size 6 trousers. Yesterday (10 days after) I wanted to wear the trousers but I couldn't. It was a little snug already. I put it aside and wore a size 8 to go out. I had a short love affair with being a size 6. It was good, it felt good. While I may have a "devil may care" attitude about food here , I will definitely go back to dieting and more exercise once I'm back in KL.

A day at the beach

Taken at Boracay beach...

I love the weather, not too hot. I love the crowd, not too many. I love the food, all fresh seafood. And most importantly I love the time I spent with my hubby and son.

It was precious.

Boracay!!

If it isn't for this assignment, I'd still be on hiatus..LOL.

I couldn't seem to write lately because my mind is on vacation mode too. We're in Philippines for a two-week vacation. And right now, we're here in Boracay. Finally!!!

We arrived early this morning to a gloomy weather and the ride from Caticlan jetty to Boracay was a little bumpy. Thankfully it didn't rain.

Despite all the stress of early travel, I am happy to be here.

Anyway, while looking for a place to have dinner tonight we passed by the D'mall. I didn't expect to find everything there. We could have come here without bringing anything and we could just buy here. I mean, even the shops have barcode scanner!

Here's a picture of the hotel we're staying in (Boracay Mandarin) and the picture of the sea before the sun totally vanished.

Only two photos, just enough to whet your appetite LOL.

'Till my next post :)
