Tennis champ

I have a few things to finish before the start of the Australian Open Championship between Roger Federer and Andy Murray. One of which is to look for an Oklahoma attorney. Did you guess that? LOL!

Hubby is rooting for The Fed, of course. While I love Federer, this time I want Andy to win his first grand slam title. I think he's ready to be a champ.

Federer has nothing to prove anymore. He's won the most elusive title in his career which is the French Open. And he's broken Pete Sampras record of grand slam title.

I think it's time for a new face in men's tennis. And besides, I find Murray cuter than Federer. Hahahaha!!!

Now off to watch the championship game. Go Andy!

Bad hair day

I had lunch at KFC today. Some id#ot ruined my meal experience.

This afternoon I received a righteous comment from someone named anonymous, apparently affected by my post.

What did I do?

I was just minding my own business (eating and blogging).

Why can't people just do the same? If you want to eat, then go ahead and eat. If you want to brag, este, blog then do it.

I couldn't care less.

Totally bad hair day.

From the UK

I got a new bag from the UK. If you're Filipino, you know what that means. LOL!

The tag says it's Bally. I am not sure if it's authentic. It is still in good condition. The handle is leather and the body is made from soft fabric.

I was hesitant to buy it at first. It was priced at $15. For a second hand bag, it was expensive for me. Hahahaha!

But when we were about to leave the shop, I bought it on impulse. Now I am loving it. I can use it as my laptop bag.

I am going back to that shop again. Hopefully I will score some more vintage finds.

Online course

The information you get from the web can be really overwhelming. But it can be a lot of help too.
I was browsing through the net, passing the time while waiting for hubby to come out of his office one day when I chanced upon a site which offers criminal justice degrees online.

I didn't pay much attention but I saved it in my favorites like I always do. Today, I remember that my sister is graduating end of this month as a policewoman. Woohoo!!!

I think the site might be of help to her. She's planning to pursue higher education and I think an online course is very convenient for her. She doesn't have to sacrifice her work, she can earn a degree and work at the same time. The degree would definitely put her ahead of her peers. Great!

I'll send the link. I am just too lazy to check the link again if the degree offered is available for everybody. LOL!

Now I am off to go browsing more useful sights. Hopefully sites which tells me how to be a great person, rich and sexy all at the same time.

Hahaha!!!

Monday is a good start

Okay, so the weekend was a disaster healthwise. Last Saturday, I decided to cook up a feast. I don't know what inspired me. I just wanted to cook a lot of food. To think there was only me, hubby, EJ and a house help to eat my cooking.

I made a potato salad with bacon, cooked fried chicken, fried prawns and seafood paella. We had jackfruit for dessert as if it made the whole thing less sinful. And to complete the meal we had coke zero. LOL!

I still feel full up to now. Well, what did I expect, no xplode side effects?

I tried to make it up by playing tennis on Sunday and doing an intense workout today. It did nothing. Hahaha! Seriously, Monday is always a good start for me when it comes to exercise and diet.

And I promise, no more feast on weekends. At least not this weekend. Hahaha!!!

Have a happy Monday to all!

My worth - financially

Okay, here's the deal. I might delete this post tomorrow. But for now let me rant a little.

I am sick and tired of people who think, insinuate or imply one way or another that I am worth nothing just because I have no real job. What is a real job anyway? In a world we live in right now, a job doesn't have to be in an office from 9-6 or 8-5.

But there are still people out there who think that way. While I am really a tolerant person, some days I get so pissed off with this ignorance.

And it gets to me. It does!

I know I don't work in the outside world and it may seem to people that I earn nothing. That's not true. Yes, being a mother pays nothing but that's not all I do. While I do not bring in as much income as my husband does, I bring in just enough. I take credit for these income because I do the work and I invest time for these.

We have three condo units in Manila. Two of which are income generating. We have 3 investments which are earning as well.

It's true that the above investments came from hubby's salary but it wouldn't have been invested wisely and managed properly if it weren't for me. For our condo rentals I post ads diligently on the internet daily looking for clients. I do everything. For our other investments, hubby wouldn't have invested if it weren't for me. So all of the above income is because of me.

I know I am bragging. Some financially insecure people might get affected by this. But I think it's time I assert myself.

Some working people think that just because they have a job, they have the license to look down on SAHMs. Just because they have a job, they think they are smarter than SAHMs. Just because they have a job, they think SAHMs are just leeching on to their husbands. Just because they have a job, they think they are better than the SAHMs.

Please. Being a SAHM is hard work. Only the best survives.

Now back to regular programming and let me read some colon cleanse reviews. LOL!

Oh to be that

I've been reading some business and money books again. I feel like this year is my year to break into the business world.

I feel agitated. I feel something is waiting for me to just make my move. I feel restless most days. I can't wait for something to happen. And to be honest, I can't wait to be and in layman's term "rich".

It's actually how I feel with my weight. I can't wait to be thin or as thin as I can be.

But like what they say, you can never be too rich and too thin. Well, what if I discover a miracle weight loss drink? That's hitting two birds at the same time. I'd get rich and at the same time I'll be thin. Wishful thinking. LOL!

And I blame the weather for all this nonsense talk. Maybe I should go shopping....

Rain equals disaster

Midday today, I was proud of myself. I woke up kinda early (6:20AM, hahaha). I ate my breakfast. I did 30 minutes of jumping rope and another 30 minutes of stretching and other workout.

Then I drank 3 cups of tea and ate almonds as my morning snack. I had veggies and half cup of brown rice for lunch.

But at 3pm today, I succumb to mango and sticky rice!!!!

The weather is not helping at all. It's been raining since late this morning. And when it is raining, I am prone to over eating. I really wish there is a fat burning product that I can pop anytime I eat something sugary and fatty!

Maybe I will run in the treadmill later to burn all the calories in the sticky rice. Ugh.

Kikay stuff

Yesterday I got a cute brooch. A friend who just came back from Bangkok gave me and another friend one brooch each.

I love it! Now I have some other accessory option when I wear an LBD. Thanks Che! You're the sweetest!

On to another kikay stuff, I am loving my victorian coin necklace. I bought it here from a shop called Subtyl. They do have some nice dresses, bags, shoes and accessories like these.

I think I bought it for $30. A little expensive for me. But I still bought it. There are things you want and at the same time need, classic example is this and an acne-solution =)

And it was actually love at first sight. LOL!

Loving my new hair

I was surprised to find out today that my hair can be tied up now. It wasn't too long ago when it was still a pixie cut. When it grew a little longer I had it cut again with bangs. Now I still have bangs but the hair at the back can be done in pony tail.

I love it! Here's a tight shot.

Nevermind some acne scars. Hahaha! There was time when all I had on my face were acne. But that happened only one time and I am so glad it never happened again. I guess the best acne medicine is really to take care of our face by washing, toning and moisturizing. But the most important thing is to really make our face clean.

Now off to run in the treadmill. Ta-ta.

Too many on the list, too little memory

A trip to the Philippines always feel short. And I always forget one or two things I needed to do back there.

This last trip is no different. Before we left I had a feeling I missed something. And I did. Drat!

First, I totally forgot to have a haircut and have hair loss treatments.

Second, I forgot to visit a neurologist for my migraine.

And last, I forgot to visit my bank to inquire about something.

I need to have a checklist before flying to Philippines because when I am there I forget things like above. And it pisses me off.

My memory cannot be relied on anymore. Tsk, it sucks getting old.

One of my fave

Here's one of my favorite outfit: white tank top Gap, black blazer Promod, 1969 jeans Gap, bag from Bayo, shoes Converse, necklace and bangle from shop here in Phnom Penh.

Compared to Nicole I look like a midget and a whale. LOL! But I love this photo because I look nice. Hahahaha!!!

Gee, I easily forget

I was rummaging through the cabinet today when I saw my old Cole Haan boots. I have totally forgotten that I have one. So forgetful me!

This would have come in handy in Hongkong, practicality and fashion wise. Good thing, I didn't buy a new pair. I was so tempted to buy when we were in HK. All the ladies were wearing boots. I was jealous. I always wanted to wear boots, LOL!

I am so happy I found this shoes again. I might be wearing these pair soon.

Cross fingers.

Craving for exercise

It feels good to exercise again!

I can't believe I would say that. I used to detest exercising. Even when I was at my heaviest and swore I'd exercise religiously, I still found ways to avoid going to the gym.

Exercising means sweating out, getting tired and it always sounds plain boring. Until I found ways to make exercise fun again.

There are days when I would just vegetate on the couch or stay in my "office" and surf the net. Now my body craves for some mobility and action.

I was not surprised when I found out that I gained only 1lb from my two-weeks vacation despite the constant eating. I guess my metabolism has really increased. And although I did not exercise during those times, I was always moving.

Today I went to our so called fitness equipment area in the building. I ran and walked alternately on the treadmill. After 35 minutes, I was sweating like a pig and trying to catch my breath. But it felt good!

Hongkong Fun

Hongkong was chilly! I didn't expect a temperature of 11-14 would take its toll on my body.

I remember going to Baguio before, the weather even colder at 9 degrees but I don't remember shivering out of the cold.

I really must be getting old! On the first day I had lower back pain and muscle cramps.

Anyway, I just want to share my newest favorite bag. I bought it in Hongkong from an outlet mall called Gateway.

Kate Spade bag

I know this bag is not from the current collection but I love it. What's even more lovable is the price. I got it for a fraction. Definitely one of my Best Buy in HK. Well, that's my only purchase anyway.

It's my first Kate Spade purchase. And I think I have a become a fan.

Fast forward

And we're back here in PP. I had a great time in Philippines and in Hongkong. But I felt depleted when I arrived here.

Today I went to have a much needed massage. I had a two hour massage, it was heavenly!

The year 2010 would only officially start tomorrow when everything is back to normal and back to real life.

I need to work on some loans and motorhome insurance este life insurance immediately.

I know we didn't have enough time in the Philippines to ran the errands but I should have made it a point to prioritize these important things. Sigh.

Here's to a very organized year. Cheers!

NY resolutions

It's already 5 days into the new year but I haven't thought of any new year's resolution yet. Just saying.

I usually have some resolutions before the new year starts - some small things I want to change or happen in the coming year. Example: lose weight. LOL!

Actually this has been my new year's resolution ever since. My weight is like a yoyo. And every year I swear to lose weight. Until now, I haven't achieved my ideal weight. LOL!

For this year, I am thinking I need to see results if I make some resolutions. That means, the NY resolutions should be doable and feasible.

Ok, here goes:

1) Lose 10lbs until Christmas this year.

2) Be understanding. Hahaha! I am not sure if this is achievable.

3) Spend less on shopping. Not that I shop a lot.

4) Buy an auto insurance for our future car. LOL!

5) Save and invest.

I think that's it. I will try to work on it. I will, I will, I will. Hehehe.

In Hongkong

We arrived to a chilly Hongkong this morning.

When we were exiting the plane, the crew said that the ground temperature was 19 degrees. I thought to myself..hmmm not too cold.

But when we got out, I was surprised it was colder than I have anticipated. I am not sure if it was the weather or it was just stress but when we got to the hotel, I felt a little feverish. My muscles were aching.

I seriously thought I was going to get sick and would need one of those patient assistance programs. LOL!

After having lunch in-room, we all took a nap. I feel better now. Hopefully I didn't catch any bug or something. It would be a bummer to get sick on a holiday.

Now, I need to make an itinerary because I haven't made one yet. I was sooo busy prior to our trip here.

Happy 2010!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start of the year.

Mine started good. There was a bit of a misunderstanding with my family on the first day of this year but all is good now. I believe family should stick together. No matter what.

Moving on, I am positive this year is a good year. I have apprehensions and worries but I know if we work hard enough everything will be alright.

And if I could, I would try to get one of those cheap health insurance as an added investment. We never know when we get sick. You know what they say about health. It's wealth. Hehehe.

Happy 2010 everyone! May we all have a good year.
