My Idol

Wow, it's elimination night already in American Idol tonight. While it is too early to tell who will win, I have some favorites already. It still might change though. Last year, I didn't notice Adam Lambert until there were 12 contestants left. Although he didn't win, he's still my favorite Idol ever.

So back to the current AI.

My favorite girl si Siobhan. She can belt out high notes but she can also sing real slow songs. There's something about her. She's not just pretty but there's some air of mystery around her. I like her. My second favorite girl is Lacy Brown. Although she didn't perform well on her first live show, I am still rooting for her. She seems funky yet down to earth and she's really beautiful.

My favorite guy is Lee. I think he will go a long way. I like his voice. I like that he is down to earth. My second fave is Alex Lambert. Not because he is a Lambert. LOL! But I do like his voice too. He just seems a little too shy and nervous. I hope he will overcome it.

I cannot watch the live telecast tonight because I will be having dinner with our agent, discussing life insurance and the like. I am bored already and thinking of ways how to ditch this.

Oh well, I will just watch the replay.

Of travel plans and wishes

Once you start to travel, you cannot get it out of your system. Travel is really addicting. And it's a very expensive hobby. I wish I have lots of moolah so I can travel every month.

January and February were kind of busy months. We were in Surigao, Manila, Hongkong, and our recent trip was in Bangkok.

But our next travel won't be until April. We are planning to go to Singapore. The destination is not final yet. I might change my mind and go to Taipei or I might grab the Orlando vacation packages I saw online. But it's definite, we are travelling on April.

After April, our next travel will be on October or November. We are going to Manila and then Beijing. I hope my brother and sister in-law would join us. The more, the many-er, sabi nga nila. Hehehe!!

For December we still haven't decided where to go. If we have lots of saving by then, we might go somewhere with snow. I wish!

My gray blazer

I am a little sad. I left this blazer in the hotel we were staying at in Bangkok last weekend. I really, really love this blazer. The fit is right for me. I love the color. And I bought it for only $1.25 in a Japanese thrift store here in Phnom Penh.

It was really a steal. I jumped with joy when I found this. LOL!

And now I lost it. I am sad. Losing weight is a cause for joy but losing something I love is really heart wrenching.

I am going back to the japanese thrift store soon and hope I'd find another one like this.

Pasta night

Inspired by my friend's post on FB, I also made pasta last night. The usual pasta I make are carbonara and the filipino style spaghetti.

This is my first time to make this. And I thoroughly love it.

I sauteed the salmon in olive oil and garlic. Then I tossed it with the rest of the ingredients: pasta, cherry tomato, parsley, some more sauteed garlic, a little more olive oil, salt and pepper.

There was no xplode results. Hahaha, that's how hubby described it. Mainly because he doesn't dig parsley.

Since I made it, I love it. Love your own, right? LOL!

More time to exercise

I was taking a shower when I thought of this.

I don't have a 9-6 job. I have blogging duties but it doesn't consume much of my time. I take care of my son but every morning he is in school. I have errands but they're manageable. I cook dinner only. And I have somebody to help me with the housechores.

So what's stopping me from reaching my ideal weight? Why am I not as thin (okay healthy) as I was before (pre marriage)?

I have about 3-4 hours of free time everyday. Free time to do whatever I want.

I should use this to exercise more!

I don't need any weight loss supplements. I think with proper diet (more fibers!) and lots of exercise I should be able to reach my ideal weight at the end of this year.

That means no more PSP games. Oppppssss...

A book a month

I have a goal this month. It's fairly easy and it's not about my weight....for a change. Hahaha!!!

I used to read a lot. I am not talking about magazines, although, I can read endless number of magazines in a month too. LOL! I used to like reading books. But somehow, I cannot pinpoint the exact reason, but somehow I don't read much anymore. Last year, I might have read 10 books, more or less. Pathetic.

So I've made a goal. I should read at least 3 books in a month. How hard could it be, right? Couldn't be much harder than an eczema treatment, if I say so.

But guess how many books I have read so far? Nada! That's right. I have three books lying in my side table. I have started reading a few pages of each book but I can't seem to finish it.

I bought an easy read: The other side of midnight by Sidney Sheldon. I have read this before but I have forgotten the story. So I thought I'd buy the book and read it again. Well, you know what happened next.

Maybe I should lower my goal to at least 1 book per month. That way I am not setting up myself for disappointment.

That's it! One book a month. That shouldn't be too hard.

For today

I did 30 minutes of jumping rope, 30 lunges, 30 squats, 30 bench dips, 15 push-ups, 60 crunches, 45 seconds of plank and this modified plank. Pretty difficult. I was sweating like a pig.

I am craving for green curry. I am debating whether to buy it later or just wait for next weekend and eat it in Bangkok. Difficult choice!

Later I am gonna head over to the grocery and check if they have some anti wrinkle creams I can buy. Hahaha, vanity alert!!!

And that's my Monday! Hope you are all having a rock and rolling Monday guys!!!

Hearts day

So how was your Valentines? Did you go out on a date with you bf/hubby/partner/friend? Did you have a romantic candlelit dinner? I hope you did. But if you didn't, that makes two of us. LOL!

No, I am not bitter. I am not really a Valentines kind of girl. I don't swoon at the sight of roses or chocolates. I have never been a fan of Valentines day but I am not a scrooge either. It's just not my thing.

I guess my husband is lucky to have me, in the sense that he only has to give me gifts twice in a year - my birthday and on Christmas. LOL!!!!

Of course, a gift is a gift. If he wants to give me a patio cushions on Valentines, who am I to refuse right? Hahaha.

Seriously though, love can be and should be celebrated everyday. We don't need a special date for that.

So if you didn't receive a gift or a flower or you didn't go to dinner with your man yesterday, that's okay. You are not alone. LOL!!!

Mall rat

This past couple of weeks I have been itching to go shopping. But where? Yes, there are boutiques and tiangges around here. But what I really want to do is go shopping in a mall. As shallow as it sounds I miss shopping in a mall. I miss it.

I miss going around the mall, looking at the pretty displays, trying on clothes without even buying, having coffee inside the mall, and eventually going back to the store to finally buy what I tried on earlier.

Hubby suggested we go to Bangkok one weekend. I love the idea but it maybe hard to believe, I am kuripot too. I do splurge sometimes but I also know the difference between a want and a need.

So we made a compromise. We'll go shopping on Khmer New Year (long holiday here). It's also time hubby update his office wardrobe. And EJ's clothes are little tight and small for him.

My problem now is I cannot decide where to go: KL or SG?

I miss KL but I also want to check out what's new in SG. I really cannot decide. It's like choosing a multivitamin. I get confused. LOL!

I have been glued to my laptop, checking and comparing hotels between two cities and still I haven't made my decision.

Gosh how hard can it be, right? LOL!!!

Friday workout

I had yoga yesterday. It was intense yet relaxing as well. Don't let me explain. LOL!

Today I worked my bum off with 20 minute interval exercise and another 40 minutes of squats, lunges, stepper, crunches, and this new workout I got from Self.com.

Click to read the instructions.

I love this exercise. It stretches my tummy and I can feel my tush and thighs tightening. LOL!!! I hope after two months of exercise I would look like the girl above. Hahahaha! Wishful thinking!!!

I love to cook

If there's one thing I love to do at home, it is cooking. But cleaning still tops my favorite house chores.

My husband loves my cooking. But I am still not confident especially when I cook food for other people.

Tonight though, I would say I cooked the most delish prawn I've ever eaten. LOL!

I don't know what it is called. It's one of my spur of the moment concoction. It's a sauteed prawn with tomato, onions, ginger, and spring onions. I added a bit of chili paste because I wanted it to be a little hot. I got my desired taste.

I ate a ton of rice because of this. Arrrg!!! Now I have to workout like crazy tomorrow so I can burn at least half of the calories I've consumed.

Work your abs

Just want to share one of my favorite workouts right now. Like most of my workouts, I got this from Self.com

It works your chest, back, arms, abs and legs. I love it. With only one work out, I get to work so many muscles. And I can feel my abs really tightening with this routine.

Try it girls! =)

Not another one

Some girls like make up. Some girls like perfume. Some girls like high-heeled shoes. Some girls are techie and they love computers. Me? I love bags. Not too much. Just a healthy dose of love for bags =)

The bags in my closets are big. I am looking for something small and pretty. But all those pretty bags are very expensive. I can only own it in my dreams. Wahahaha!!

This morning I was going through some websites and I thought I would never like another big bag again. And then I saw this Bottega Veneta PVC tote. Oh it is cute.

Priced $840 at Neiman Marcus. Waaaahhhh. I can only dream.

Oh well. I"ll just go window shopping online. Maybe I will find something cheap. LOL!

Glued

I sleep pretty early. At 10pm I am usually in dreamland. But at 1am early this morning, I was still busy playing psp. Now I have a migraine. Ugh, ugh, ugh!

I need to exercise today because I overeat yesterday but with my head starting to spin, I don't think I can even manage a 20 minute interval exercise.

But I think I can manage to walk to a coffeeshop. I need a caffeine fix (there is no coffee at home! how did that happen? hahaha). I will just have to bring my laptop so I can go through the term life insurance quotes I got from an agent and my magazines of course.

At least I'd still be able to exercise in the form of walking..for 10 minutes. LOL! Short walk, but whatever I'll take it.

Better than nothing.

Ciao!
