Snack trip

Have you been to Dad's meryenda buffet? If not, I suggest you try it.

Everytime I'm here in Manila, I almost always go to Dad's for their meryenda buffet. All the snack food I miss are present in the buffet.

There's banana and camote cue, pancit, spaghetti Filipino style, tokwa't baboy, pandesal, ginataang halo-halo, siomai, siopao, fried lumpia, cakes, etc, etc.

Last Sunday that I was there with hubby, there was a long line going inside. I am guessing, they were mostly balikbayans or people like us who were away from Philippines and are craving Filipino snacks.

I ate a lot of banana cue and pancit. They were yummy! Hubby had little of everything and was so full he wanted to have a quick puff of Swisher Sweets.

By dinner time, we were still so full we skipped dinner altogether.

We saved a lot. LOL!

F21

While still in Cambodia, I heard that Forever 21 has opened in Megamall. I was happy because Megamall is very accessible to me.

So last Sunday, I had time to go to F21. I didn't expect it would be that big. Maybe as big or even bigger than the F21 in Bangkok and KL.

I saw a lot of things I wanted to buy. I checked the price and they were affordable. I guess I still wasn't in the mood to buy or shop that day. Because I just breezed through the store and left with nothing in my hand.

I saw a lot of girls though with so many plastic bags in their hands when they left. And the store was full of girls. I saw some guys too =)

What I didn't check was the sizes of the clothes. I didn't check if I would easily find my size. My size? Secret. LOL!

Seriously I am size 8. Yeah, yeah. I am big. It's time to go to the pharmacy and buy a phentremine. Hahaha!

I will visit F21 again soon when everything is okay. I hope to buy some nice dresses.

Time to be healthy

I went to SM groceries today. I bought veggies mostly. More than wanting to lose weight, I promise myself to be healthy: to eat more veggies and less meat, less salty food and no more sweetened and carbonated drinks for me starting now.

Today I ate mostly veggies. I actually was craving for a pakbet but a less salty one. I was just telling hubby if I want to lose weight fast, I just have to write dietpilldiscounts.com on the navigation bar and then select the best one suited for me.

I think I have tasted almost everything I can possibly eat and afford to eat so I really wouldn't be missing something.

I want to be healthy. I don't want to be sick. Being sick is financially overwhelming and emotionally taxing. I couldn't afford that.

Let's all be healthy now.

Too much information

I am really a google junkie. Everything I want to know I can find it on the internet. And Mr. Google is a big help.

These past few days, I have been researching a lot on the internet. I have been looking for more information about testicular tumors and testicular inflammation. I've also checked a couple of life insurance quotes online.

And I've read more than I want to know. It's good but right now, the information I got are more than I can handle. There's such a thing as information overload.

I've been crying for days now. But I know I also have to be strong and I need to have faith. God will answer my prayers.

Chocolates

It's really hard to resist food whenever I am here in Manila. So instead of fighting the cravings, I just give in. It's easier. LOL!

Last night we had a sumptous dinner at Greenbelt 5. Will make a separate post about that. After dinner, we went around G5 and we spotted Royce Chocolate.

My son rushed to the booth and shouted "this is my favorite chocolate!"

I bought only one box of Royce Nama chocolate. I'll just eat a piece, okay, maybe two slices of the chocolate. I wonder how many calories would that be?

Maybe I should just buy apidexin so I shouldn't worry about weight gain while here. On second thought, so what if I gain a little more? Live a little, right?

Thank you's

I haven't had a decent sleep for two straight days now. I look like a zombie and I could really really use a wrinkle cream for protection.

I am here in Manila now. We arrived last night. The flight was bumpy and I had the worst migraine! Of all the time. But I survived.

Okay enough complaining. Time to say thanks.

I want to thank Kuya Jed and Ate Mai for letting us stay here in their place. Thank you so much.

To Ate Mai, for also lending her car and finding us a driver. Thank you so much! We really appreciate your kindness!

Thank you to Mano Jeff for the wonderful presents! A Chanel perfume for hubby and a Louis Vuitton ring for me (will post the picture later). You have always been generous. Thank you so much.

To my sister Jaja for taking time to find a Urologist for EJ. Thanks Ja. That was really nice of you.

I do love my family!

Ten things

We'll be flying to Manila on Friday. Although I will probably be busy with EJ's doctor appointments, I will make sure to do other important stuff as well. Importance is very subjective. Hehehe.

Here's what I am going to do in Manila:

1) Visit Forever 21 store in Megamall
2) Eat at Yoshinoya
3) Visit Zara and Gucci store in Shangrila
4) Visit Gap in Megamall
5) Foot scrub
6) Go to Quiapo for my beading supplies
7) Check out LV in Greenbelt
8) Apply ATM card for my BDO savings account (still on passbook)
9) Have a haircut (maybe)
10) Check out Accessory Lab in Rockwell. Maybe they'd take my jewelries for consignment too. Hehehe.

You notice something in my list? Mostly it's shopping. It really shows how desperate I am to shop. LOL!

We don't have a car in Manila. So we usually commute when we are there. But this time, we won't have to commute anymore. My sister in law offered her car. Yay! Thank you so much Ate Mai. See you on Friday! =)

Smallville again

I have just finished watching season 9 of Smallville on DVD with hubby and I must say, I am hooked!

I checked their website and I learned that season 10 starts on September. That is too far away. I can hardly wait!!!!

I have to admit I lost interest in Smallville sometime ago. Season 7 and 8 were not really my favorite. Season 9 rekindles my love of the show. Simply because it's Clark and Lois now! I love them. They're perfect for each other. Sorry Lana Lang. LOL!

Season 9 finale is everything I want it to be. But I want more. I couldn't wait to see Clark and Lois take their relationship into the next level. Oliver and Chloe's relationship is also exciting to watch. I think they are perfect for each other too.

In the mean time, I am going to watch Smallville again from the beginning.

Difference between 2009 and 2010

I was looking at my old albums in FB. Okay, not exactly old because it was taken just last year. But it seemed like a long time ago because the difference between my weight now and last year is HUGE.

Here's one of the pictures in that album, taken January 2009.

The bulge on the right side of my waist is a pedometer. Speaking of, I need to find it again.

I liked to wear cargo pants paired with white tees then. Hubby said, I looked like a guy especially with my hair. LOL! But I liked it. I still like to wear lose clothes like parish clothing now but it doesn't look good on me anymore.

With the weight I gained, loose clothing only makes me look bigger.

I am going to keep visiting my "old" albums and get inspired to lose weight again. I know I can do it.

And I will!

Give it with passion

What a beautiful and timely message I received from God Whispers today.

I am really inspired and motivated. Thank you!

Happy Friday everyone!

Ten wishes

Oh wow, it's already July! And next month is my birthday already. I will be 32. Yikes. LOL!

Do you know, I sometimes forget how old I am. Hahaha! Seriously. Is it because I don't want to be reminded how old I am? I don't think so. I guess I just don't really care much for my age and that's the truth. I always say it's just a number. And it is.

Anyways, back to my birthday. I don't have any plans. I am supposed to go to Manila for some errands (and a little shopping in between, hahaha!) but I am not sure if I could go. I might just stay home on my birthday, order take away food and shop online. Pathetic. LOL!

Here's the fun part though, I am going to make my wishlist now. And I am not going to wish for world peace (not that I don't want world peace). This is a self indulgent and selfish wishlist. It's my birthday after all.

1) 15lbs lighter on my birthday
2) a cellulite cure or cream
3) business opportunities
4) shiny and straight hair
5) shopping trip
6) good health for me, hubby and EJ
7) more creativity
8) more online work
9) understanding and patience
10) blessed relationships

Waste versus Waist

This week has been a struggle. One minute I am good, the next one I am not. Losing weight is really hard.

My friend says, it's not. Here's her quick weight loss tips: Learn to say no and enough. Then practice doing it.

I know it's all in the mind. But shame, it really is hard! Especially if your house is surrounded with temptations.

I have a lot of junk food (chips, pizza, and more chips) from our last groceries. If I don't eat them, they'll go to waste. If I eat them, my waist will suffer. So which one? Waste or Waist?

Life's choices are really difficult, aren't they?

I guess, I'll consume all the junk food first and then I could start with my healthy eating habits without my conscience nagging at me.

Sounds like a win-win.

Or does it?

Readings for this month

I have at least a couple of books in my bedside table waiting to be read. And yesterday I added two more.

I was in Monument bookstore yesterday and I saw the book Eat Pray Love. I have seen this book before but haven't really been interested until recently when I read a review from a magazine. I flipped through the pages and decided to buy it.

I read that this book was on New York's bestseller list for 155 weeks. Wow! I am sucker for books which made it to NY bestseller list. LOL!

Let's see if I could finish this book this month.

Rain, Rain go away

What is it that today's rain made me want to go shopping?

It's been raining the whole afternoon, complete with thunder and lightning. It's the kind where you just want to curl in the bed and read a book or make you watch marathon DVD with coffee in hand.

But today's rain has a different effect on me. I wanted to go to a mall and shop.

Too bad, there's no mall here. And even if I wanted to go to the markets, it would have been flooded.

Here's the list of things I want to buy in Megamall if I were in Manila:

1) Bag. Something cheap but nice looking. Like this bag from GAP. I think it's about $59 only.

2) Lipofuze.

3) Peach mango pie from Jollibee or Apple pie from McDonald's.

4) A bowl of Yoshinoya's gyudon.

5) A cute top.

6) A flat sandals.

7) A ballet shoes in gold.

Oh well, I will just grab a cup of coffee and go window shopping online. It's the next best thing =)

When busy, do nothing

I have so many things to do today and yet I am hanging on my computer for about an hour now. I couldn't decide which of the many chores I need to do first. And just like every other time this happens to me, I just take the easy way out and do nothing. LOL!

Seriously, I need to pack our things. We're moving to another apartment. It's bigger and what has got me excited are the faux wood blinds which are totally stylish. I wonder if the owner got it online or got it locally. Note: must ask the owner.

My to do list today also includes: pay the credit card bill, follow up the internet connection, pick up business card at the printing press, finish a necklace, email an agent and exercise.

I guess I could combine exercise and packing our things. I mean, it's physically exhausting to put things into boxes right? So that equals exercise. LOL!

Seriously, seriously...I need to get moving.

Happy Friday to you all!

Yet another goal

When will I ever learn? My weight has been like a yoyo eversince I hit puberty. It's always been a struggle to keep my weight off. I thought I've had it in the bag last year when I lost 25lbs or so in 4 months time. I kept the weight as long as I could, probably 4 or 5 months more. But after that, it was a battle once again.

Sigh.

I am starting all over again today. My goal is to lose 15lbs. Today is July 2, 2010. I'd like to document this and see my progress monthly.

I did it last year. And I think I can do it again.

So here's my plan:

1) Breakfast is important! So I will have a big and healthy breakfast everyday.
2) No more junk food starting today. So goodbye blueberry muffin!
3) Exercise for at least 30 minutes (alternating aerobic with toning exercises)
4) Learn portion control.
5) Drink diet supplement. If I cut back on my calorie intake, I think taking vitamins is necessary.
6) Move often. Every little move counts.
7) Learn to say enough and no. This is very important!
8) Reward myself. How about a shopping reward for every pound or kilo lost? Hmmm...enticing. LOL!
9) I should remember that health is wealth.
10) Drink lots of water.

Join with me. Let's all be healthy =)
