Sonya's rooms

About a month ago, we went to Sonya's Garden in Tagaytay. I have heard about them for a long time now. I've heard about their yummy vegetarian meals. But I've never heard they have accommodation as well.

After lunch that day, we walked around the garden and we also went to check out their housing accommodation.

I don't know what the theme is. But I must say the rooms are pretty. I didn't notice if they had a Kwikset doorknob though.

For Php3,500+ per person, it's okay. The house has three beds, a nice bathroom but no AC. But I don't think you'd need AC though. The cool breeze of Tagaytay is already enough.

We're planning to stay there one weekend. It must be really relaxing.

3,2,1...

In less than two hours, I will be officially 32. Ew! That's ancient. LOL! But guess what, I don't care. Hehehe.

Anyway, I received a very early birthday pressie from my very loving and generous brother.

That's him! And he gave me this:

Thank you so much, Mano! You're such a generous person and I know God will give you more and bless you more.

Happy birthday to me! LOL!

Movies

I've been to the cinema three times already since we arrived here. I didn't know I miss watching movies in the big screen until I was inside the cinema. LOL!

Hubby and I watched Sorcerer's Apprentice two times. First one, it was just the two of us. The second one, we brought EJ along. The movies is a parental guidance (PG), after all. EJ enjoyed the "magic" scenes. But the rest of the movie just bored him. =)

I actually enjoyed watching this movie. It has all the formula included like magic, romance, action and comedy. I love movies like this one. Fast paced and light. I also like the dialogues. Very witty and funny. The sorcerer's costume took on a funny turn when the lead actor said the safety gloves, este, the black pointy shoes was an "old man's shoes". LOL! I loved Nicholas Cage's reaction there.

Last night hubby and I also watched the movie Salt. Angelina Jolie is hot. I like the movie. And the character she plays is almost like tailored-fit for her. Bagay na bagay sa kanya.

I wonder what other movies I could watch while I am still here in Manila?

Buying clothes

I didn't pack a lot of clothes coming here to Manila. I didn't expect we'd stay here longer than the original two weeks plan.

So after two weeks here, I've finally decided to buy some clothes for me because I've been wearing the same clothes every other day already. Hahaha!!

At first though, I wasn't in the mood to buy anything. Surprise. Surprise! Hahaha!!!

But GAP and Promod were on sale. So I was able to buy something from both stores. Then I checked F21 again. The first time I went there, I left the store empty handed. The second time, I just bought a simple striped top. I urged hubby to scour the men's clothing but he doesn't like too trendy clothes. So he bought nothing.

I've been to Zara in Shang also but didn't anything. I'll check there again today. I might be interested to buy something today.

Another crossroad

So many things are happening all at the same time. It's making me dizzy.

I've hit another crossroad. It's necessary and temporary, I know. But they're never fun. And it's always our future which is at stake. Couldn't it be something lighter at stake?

I know something for sure though. I want to have several businesses running. It's ambitious but we gotta start with something right? Some questions in my mind are, what is the best franchise to own, and where to have my business?

I've talked to hubby already. We've come up with several options.

Hopefully we'll have a final decision before the end of this week. It's not urgent but it's always nice to have a good start.

Happy Tuesday all!

Prayer

A friend emailed me this. She said this is a powerful prayer. I believe her. And I believe in this. I am sharing it now with you dear friends and readers.

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

New hair

I was planning on growing my hair long this time. I even planned a hair rebond soon. But today, I had my hair cut short again.

I'll be posting a photo of me soon.

These past few days, I have been busy. I always have no time to blow dry my hair before leaving the house. So even if my hair is wet, I had no choice but to tie it up. And it gives me an icky feeling.

Today, I was supposed to just buy pulse oximeters for my father and accompany hubby to the barber. But I ended up having my hair cut.

No regrets. I like it.

I had it cut in the Barber's place in Megamall. LOL!

I think I'll be sporting a short hair for a while. Until of course I get tired of this.

Ortigas now

I remember it vividly.

I had a Bank of America ATM Card. My brother opened an account for me at BA so he could easily give me allowance thru it.

I was about to buy a jeans at Megamall then. When I checked my wallet I had no cash. So I asked the cashier if she knows a BA ATM around. She said I had to go outside of Megamall, and I could find the bank.

I went out and did not find the bank. What I saw were a lot of construction workers. The whole place was busy with constructing new buildings.

That was the Ortigas back in 1996.

Look at Ortigas now.

This was our view when my son was admitted at The Medical City.

Ortigas now is a buzzling place. It is still busy with building new offices and condominiums. I don't think these condos have outdoor fireplace, do you? Space is very expensive I would surmise.

Just sharing this because I love Ortigas. I can see myself living here =)

Left or Right Brain

I was searching for IQ exams for toddlers online but instead I found a quiz on "left-brain, right-brain" for myself. I wasted no time in answering the questions. And here is my result: I am a left-brain person.

"Josiet, you are strongly left-hemisphere dominant and strongly auditory in your learning style, a study in organization, logic, efficiency, and structure. There is a danger that you will organize to the extent that you miss the extended meaning or nuances of material.

You are detail-oriented person and you attach importance to logic. Objective almost to a fault, you need to have things "make sense" before you can internalize them.

Your preference for the auditory mode implies that you prefer that relationships are well-defined and well-sequenced with metaphor or deviations being disruptive to your learning. Those situations where only visual cues or discriminations are provided will not necessarily be the most efficient learning situations for you. For example, charts or graphs may well not be the most efficient way for you to learn, unless you specifically verbalize the relationships represented, even if subvocally. Unless you have worked to develop compensatory skill, it is likely that situations with high visual demands will increase your anxiety about learning."

"With the predominance of your auditory preference, you will tend to be direct and specific about the words you choose. You will have a tendency to attend as much to the way a person says something as to what the person says.

The dual combination of left-hemisphere dominance and auditory preference yields an overall extremely efficient and businesslike approach to learning and life. Fun may be difficult, concern might focus on judging yourself or activated which are enhancing.

The overall likelihood is that you’ll be highly efficient and productive in almost any endeavor. You may want to emphasize enjoying your own skills and attributes more and utilize those in developing some of the less complete aspect of yourself."

I tend to agree with the highlighted sentences. The rest so-so.

I'd like to think I am a well-rounded personality. That I can be organized and creative as well.

I took this test 5 times. I am left-brain 3 out of 5. The 2 results were both balanced and said it couldn't be that accurate. Hahaha. Oh well.

I might take this text again tonight, before or after I research discount laminate flooring. I just want to see if the result will even out. Or I just want to prove to myself that I am a well-rounded person. LOL!
