Fun: Chalet Girl Movie

Two Saturdays ago, we watched a movie called Chalet girl. I did not have much expectation of the movie because first, I have never heard of the movie and second, I don't know the female lead character.

It turned out great. The movie is funny and full of wit. And the last part was also a kilig moment, mind you, not the usual cheesy kind.

I totally love watching this. Even my son enjoyed the ski tricks shown in the movie.
I think I may even watch again this weekend if I can't find another good one.

Happy Tuesday!

Saturday 9: Looking for a Love

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Looking for a Love

1. When you were single, or if you are single, what's the best way to look for love?
++ When I was single, I think going to the bar was the best way to meet guys. But love? You don't seek for it. It just happens, like an accident.

2. Have you ever cruised online personals, even if you're married for fun? What was the reason, or if you haven't, why not?
++ Nope, never.

3. Have you ever put up an online personal? If so, how was your experience?
++ Never tried it.

4. Have you ever answered an online personal? If so, how did it turn out?
++ Still not applicable.

5. Have you ever had a good experience with online dating? If not, have you had a friend/family member have a good experience? Tell us about it!
++ I know some people who meet online and got married later on. So it probably was a good experience for them.

6. Have you ever had a horrible experience with online dating? If not, someone else?
++ Haven't tried online dating.

7. Back in 2004, a friend threw her husband out because she found out that he was having cyber affairs/sex with 2 women in states FAR away from them. Do you think that cybersex is actually cheating?
++ Yes, absolutely. Cheating begins in the mind.

8. Do you have any suggestions for someone as to how to stay safe using a dating service?
++ I am not the best person for that because I haven't tried online dating.

9. I've heard someone say, “There's Match.com and then there's everyone else." Is this true in your experience or someone you know?
++ Sorry, I haven't tried any online dating sites so I wouldn't know.

Congrats Scotty!

It was such a great finale today. I am not saying that because Scotty won. The show itself was really beautiful and inspiring. Lots of great performances and great moments there on the stage. I am inspired.

Scotty, congrats again! I will definitely download all of your songs in iTunes. Lauren, I loved your performances last night. I think you even performed better than Scotty. But like I told my husband, Scotty already stole my heart. LOL!

I love this season's American Idol. Until the next one.

Random Thoughts on a Rainy Monday Night

Summer here is unpredictable. But I am loving the occasional rain we have.

I am sipping my 3-in-1 coffee right now and thinking about nothing really in particular. I let my mind wander.

I think I am more patient now. I used to hurry all the time. But I realized that not all things can be done right away. With patience comes maturity. Or at least I hope so.

No expectations. I have to admit I expect so much. I expect so much from myself and from other people. But expectations just yield disappointments. So now, I try not expect to anything. It's better that way. No disappointments.

I still dislike procrastination. If you can do it now, do it right away. There is no sense in letting things slide by. A total waste of time.

Friendship, just like any relationship needs nurturing. It couldn't be one-sided too.

Be grateful all the time.

I always try to be nice but I also get tired of being nice.

If people want to be in your life, they will make an effort to be part of your life. If they don't, then don't insist.

Don't do unto others what you don't want others do unto you. Simple.

Let me share my favorite prayer. I forgot where I found this. But lately, I find myself reciting this over and over. Even my son, has memorized it. We even say this together. Here it is:

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends,
Amen.

The rain has let up. My mug is empty. I should wash this mug before going to sleep.

Goodnight, Monday.

Saturday 9: Rain

I am joining Saturday 9 for the first time here. I joined the previous ones in my other blog.

Saturday 9: Rain

1. It's Spring, grilling begins! If you plan a picnic, do you bow out if it rains?
++ Yes, it's no fun if there is rain. But if I am halfway through it, we'll just go inside and continue the fun.

2. Do you prefer food grilled on a charcoal or gas grill?
++ Definitely charcoal.

3. We're at the first grilling picnic. What's your meat order?
++ Anything pork. I really should avoid fatty food so I don't have to worry about best acne pills later on. But I just can't resist fatty food.

4. What side dishes do you want?
++ Coleslaw, Potato Salad

5. Now, where do prefer to eat: at the picnic table or inside?
++ Picnic Table

6. You were asked to bring a dish. What do you bring?
++ Potato Salad

7. Does it bother you to have citronella candles burning if you are eating or cooking outside?
++ Not at all.

8. What fellow bloggers do you want to meet at the picnic?
++ I am shy so I want to meet someone who will do all the talking hahaha.

9. Does there need to be a pool at the picnic, your choice?
++ It would add aesthetic appeal if there is one. But if there's none, it's also okay.

AI today: down to the last two

Okay, let's be objective. Shall we?

In my honest opinion, I think Scotty outshone the two girls last night. Didn't he? I loved all his three performances. He's just a natural. I think he'll become a superstar even if he doesn't win the title.

For Lauren, I wasn't impressed much with her performances. I like her. In fact, I want a Lauren-Scotty finale. I liked her first song. But I did not like her outfit. It made her look heavy. And what's up with flowers? Hehehe sorry. I notice these things other than the performances.

Haley has been performing well lately. I loved her first song and the fact that she sang with her Dad on stage. I just don't dig her attitude though. I don't like contestants who answer back. I guess I am conservative that way. I don't know with the voters.

Who do you think will be the top 2?

I am coming home

If I am not mistaken, the top three of the American Idol will go home and have the chance to meet their supporters, right?

I wasn't able to watch last Friday's elimination because we were in the beach. Who wants to watch TV when you're in the beach? Well, at least not me nor hubby.

We only got to know that James was eliminated last Saturday morning. We were in the hotel's resto, waiting for our food and talking about fire pits, when I suddenly remembered about AI.

We checked on our phone and was surprised and saddened it was James who was eliminated. We never expected it. Hailey, yes but not James.

Hubby is actually rooting for James. And I am for Scotty. Hubby has conceded that Scotty might win but he was hoping James would be in the top 2. Sad.

So it's Lauren, Hailey and Scotty going home.

I can't wait to see it tomorrow. You can be sure I will be glued to my TV screen. I will even watch it again on replay together with hubby. Hahahaha!!!

Who do you think will win? Who are you rooting for? You could have two answers. But I will only have one =)

Congrats Nole!

I may not have watched your game live but I was definitely dreaming of you and your game. LOL!

Photo: Reuters

Nole just won his ninth ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title over Rafa and making it his 39th straight win starting last December. He's having a super year and he just seems unstoppable at the moment.

It's another happy Monday for me. And someone's going to wear Cherokee scrubs all day today just because Nole won. Hahahaha!!!

Roland Garros is next and hopefully the World Number 1 ranking. But one step at a time.

Go Novak!!!

In the Beach

Soaking up the sun and building sand castles. That's what we've been doing for the past two days now. Oh, how can I forget. Stuffing ourselves silly as well. LOL!

We're currently in Sihanoukville, 4-hour drive away from Phnom Penh, the capital.

We're staying at Independence Hotel. I am glad I chose this over Sokha. Hubby said he likes this place better than the other one. I haven't been to Sokha but based on what I saw and experienced here, I love the place. It's really a perfect place to escape the city and the heat.

The locals don't like to stay here though. They said it's haunted. Well, I haven't experienced any hair-raising moments. I hope I won't. Hahahaha!!!

I will post more about our short getaway in my travel blog when we come home.

In the mean time, let me enjoy my maternity clothing aka my tube dresses. I call them my maternity clothing because it makes me look pregnant. Hahahaha. But I don't mind because it's soft, comfortable and in red, my fave color.

Ciao for now!

Fine!

I got this from my email. If you're a woman, read and see if it's true. I had some LOL moments.

~~~
NINE WORDS WOMEN USE
(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission... Don't Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' ... that will bring on a 'whatever')
(8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!
(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.
Things I don't like on FB
As of late, I am getting annoyed with things I see on FB. But still, not a day gets by without me checking the site. Talk about being sadistic. Hahahaha!!!
Make no mistake though, I still love FB. I still love peeking through my friends' pictures and reading through their minds.
So what do I dislike in FB?
1. I don't like the spam. Example: "Hey Josiet, I got a new iPad by just clicking here". Can you please put it in your head that there's no such thing as free iPad, free iPhone and free macbook by just clicking something, okay?
2. I don't like people adding me just because we are from the same place, eventhough I clearly don't know them.
3. I don't like people tagging me, eventhough it's not my face on the picture. I understand if it's my family wanting me to see a new property or a it's a picture of my niece. But tagging me in their photo just to make me see how pretty or how nice they look in that particular photo annoys me.
Hahahaha!!! Sorry, I am having a not so nice week. It's probably PMS or something. I have a lot on my mind too.
I am looking forward to our beach trip this long weekend. I hope to come back refreshed and full of positive energy. LOL!
Hope you're having a better week than I am though.
It's a Happy Monday
Two out of three. That's more than enough reason to be happy.
Well, I am talking about sports. Two of my favorite players won their games - Manny Pacman Pacquiao and Novak Djokovic. Woohooo!!!!
I am sad Lakers lost in a sweep. I was hoping for a three peat this year. It would have been amazing! But that's life. I wonder what's next for Kobe and the rest of the team now.
Anyway, I am not gonna dwell on sad things.
Manny Pacquiao rules! After his game with Mosley, I watched a feature on him and Shane Mosley on youtube. I love how humble Manny still is. I don't know what the question was but Manny answered something like this: "Before, I have nothing. And now I have SOMETHING." He could easily have said I have "EVERYTHING". But being a very down to earth person that he is, he just said "SOMETHING". I really admire him, not just as a boxer but as human being. I wish I could have his discipline and determination. Look at him when he trains. He's unbelievable.
Go Manny! You make us Filipinos proud!
~~~

On the other side of the sports world, I am so happy that Nole won against Mr. King of Clay, Rafael Nadal on the Madrid Open. Such a sweet victory if I may say so. Hahahaha!!!

Photo credit: AFP

Nole has extended his winning streak to 32 wins this year. Incredible! Nole's having an amazing year. I do hope it continues that way.

~~~
What a happy start of the week for me. I have a big smile to last through this very hot hot week.
Happy Monday y'all!
A day wasted
My day started not so good.
I woke up at 4am and had a minor migraine. I took my migraine prescription and slept again hoping when I wake up the migraine is gone.
Unfortunately, it wasn't the case. I had breakfast and took another pain reliever. Went back to bed and closed my eyes. Woke up at 9 and tried to get ready for a meeting with my friends.
I still had migraine at that point but I was hoping it will go away soon. After I got dressed, I feel nauseated. Had to go to the bathroom. Yuck. Then it started to get worst. I had to lie down for a while. Then had another migraine prescription and forced myself to sleep.
Woke up at 11:30am just in time to pick up my son from school. Still had the migraine. After lunch, had to sleep again.
Thank God, when I woke up at 2:30pm, the migraine is gone!
This migraine is really getting worse. I do not like it at all. See, more than half of my Friday is wasted. Damn!
~~~

On to good news...

Jacob Lusk is eliminated. I know, it's about time, right? Sorry Jacob fans. But I think you know that he really was the weakest link last night.

Every other contestants did well, except for Haley's first song.

My most fave last night was Scotty. He's not just cute, he can really sing and perform. I love his second song. I just melted. LOL!

To be honest, I am quite pleased with this year's top 4. I wonder now how the Americans will vote? Where will Jacob's vote go?

Exciting AI! Can't wait next week!!!

~~~
I am looking forward to the weekend and to Manny Pacquaio's fight. I hope he will win again. And to the indefatigable mothers the whole wide world, Happy Mother's Day!
Enjoy the weekend guys!
I am tired
I was exercising this morning when this thought popped up. I am tired of being fat. I wanna try being slim.
LOL!
Seriously. I am tired of being heavy. How about being slim for a change, right? Of course, it doesn't take one day to become thin like I did not become fat overnight too.
It's gonna take time.
I should change my perception. I always try to lose weight for some event or for some reason. It's never about being healthy or thin for a long time. Never for a long time. I always use the quick fix.
Yes, I always lose weight but after some time, I'd gain the weight back. It's a vicious cycle.
It's tiring.
I should try to lose weight and make it forever. I will do it today.
Speaking of, I saw a dancing zumba for Wii. Maybe I should get it to have more choices of fun and exercise in our Wii. I hope it is available here.
Let's get it on!
Casey is out
I wasn't really surprised when Casey Abrams was the latest one to leave American Idol. Don't get me wrong. I like him. And I think his last performance was really good.
If it was me though, I would have liked Jacob to go. No offense to Jacob's fans. For me, I just can't take anymore of the drama. He's nice and I like him too but sometimes the drama gets too much. That's just me, though.
I still like Scotty. I think I started to like him even more when he shoot that long range of basket. LOL! Well, what can I say? I love basketball!
James is getting better and better every week. I wonder what he will do next? I love his last performance. He's morphing into a real artist, no?
Haley, well, I was not a fan of her at the beginning. But look at her now. She's really found her own niche. Good for her. Still, I am not a fan. Hehehe.
Lauren. I loved her voice when Scotty and her did a duet. And she's blooming. I think, of all the contestants, she has the biggest transformation ever. Just the hair alone. Hehehe.
So five contestants are left. I am looking forward to their performances this week. They better up their ante or else.
I am rooting for Scotty and James. Bring it on guys!
