My 33rd

I turned 33yo last Monday.

Friends in FB said I don't look my age. I know they were just being polite and nice. LOL!

I have no qualms about revealing my age. To me, it's just a number. I may or may not look my age. It does not matter. I am who I am. I am comfortable in my own skin.

That does not mean though that I stop trying to be healthy and nice-looking. I think we are most confident in ourselves when we know we are healthy, right?

Another year in my life. Another year to be thankful. Another year to be nice. Another year to do good things. Another year to love and laugh.

I can't wait to be 34! =)

Movie month for me

This month, I have watched a lot of movies in DVD. I meant to write them but there were just too many distractions.

I have watched Inglorious Basterds, Bad Teacher, Due Date, Burlesque, The Adjustment Bureau, Hoodwinked too, Water for Elephants and Rango.

I love Due Date. It was super funny. Iron man este Robert Downy Jr is so effective. I love him.

The Adjustment Bureau was also nice. I think the chemistry between Emily Blunt and Matt Damon was palpable. Emily Blunt was a professional dancer there. I wondered if she and her friends had a Billing/Coding Specialist Jobs, would it have made a difference? I enjoyed watching that movie.

I couldn't say the same for Water for Elephants. I don't know why I finished the movie.

Inglorious Basterds was graphic. I couldn't watch some of the scenes. It was too much for me. It left me wondering if the story was based on some real story? I love Brad Pitt's accent there. So cute. LOL!

Yesterday I watched Harry Potter 7 part 2 in the cinema courtesy of a friend who had media passes. I love how this saga has ended. But then again, I don't think there could be another ending. I'll watch the part 1 with hubby. Heck, I would love to watch all of the movies from the begininng and maybe even read the books. Now that's a thought.

What movies have you watched lately?

What I Ate/22Aug

My last day! That does not mean my diet ends too. I am just done posting them. It's actually tedious. So yay, my last time to post this craziness. LOL!

Here's what I had yesterday August 22:

Breakfast - toasted whole wheat bread, 1 slice cheddar cheese, fried egg, small hotdog, 1 instant coffee

Lunch - adobong sitaw (sauteed string beans) paksiw na tanigue. And for dinner, we went to Raffles Hotel Le Royal since it was my special day. And well, I indulged a little. So I ate more than I should last night. But like I told my husband, I only have 1 birthday a year so it's forgivable to eat more. LOL! Here's my dinner:

Salmon sashimi, prawn curry, 1 grapes

Prawn curry, beef curry, dory fish, chicken in marinated herbs, fried mashed potato

For dessert, I had papaya, watermelon and a sweet sticky rice.

I weighed myself this morning. Surprisingly, I did not gain weight from last night indugence. Yay!

What I Ate/21Aug

Yesterday was my sixth day. Whew! One more day and I am off this project. Here's what I had yesterday August 21, 2011.

Breakfast - dried fish (danggit), small serving of rice, tomato omelette and a cup of instant coffee

Lunch - 3 pork barbeque, corn and carrots with crab meat, red wine

Afternoon snack - Large cafe latte skim milk from Gloria Jean's Coffee

Dinner - KFC again! 1 hot and crispy chicken. I could not resist adding a small serving of rice. I wasn't able to take a picture of it because it was already late when I realized I needed to take a picture of it. Oh well, at least I am honest here. LOL!

Today is my birthday! I am 33 years old. Wow! That feels liberating to say that. Hahahaha!!!

Happy birthday to me!!!!

What I Ate/20Aug

Today I am on my 6th day of this project. One more day and I am finished with this craziness. Well, I had fun. But it's also a bit tedious. Hence the one week span only.

To date I have lost 2.1kgs. Exciting! But I have to give credit to my exercises as well. I've been diligent with it.

So anyway, here's what I had on my fifth day, yesterday.

Breakfast - whole wheat toasted bread, two small cubes of cheese, fried egg and 1 cup instant coffee.

Lunch - from KFC {2 hot and crispy chicken, fried egg (I know! Only in Cambodia), rice (I only had 1/2 of it)}
Dinner - Adobong pusit (4 small ones), broccoli in oyster sauce

I think I forgot to mention that my drink of choice is always water. No more sodas for me from now on. When at home, I like to have green tea.

++My perennial back pain.

3. What place would you visit if money were no object?
++Only one place? I'd love to go around the world!

4. What is one thing you would love to change about yourself?
++I wish I have more discipline.

5. Do you think your parents were too strict growing up?
++Nope.

6. In general, how many old friends do you have that you talk to at least once a year?
++If you include "talking" in facebook, then I don't know how many. LOL!

7. What was the last compliment you received?
++That my new rebonded hair with bangs looks good on me.

8. Have you ever told someone you loved them but didn't really mean it?
++I don't think so.

9. In your opinion, would it be harder to lose someone close to you more as a child or harder as an adult?
++I am not sure. I think that's too difficult to hazard a guess. Maybe the same?

What I Ate/16Aug

I am starting a new project for this blog and for myself. It's called "what I ate project." I am going to post pictures of what I ate the whole day.

I have done food journal before. So I want to do something different this time. I want to see the real food.

I am doing this to chronicle my food intake for diet/health reason and to see what fun food I had. LOL!

I will try to do this for at least two weeks.

Okay, let's begin the game! This is what I ate yesterday - August 16, 2011. What you see in the picture is what I ate, nothing more, nothing less.

Breakfast - fried egg, small hotdog, toasted bread with a slice of cheddar cheese

Lunch - Nilagang baboy (string beans, pak choi, potato, pork)

Afternoon snacks - Low fat latte regular size from Gloria Jean's Coffee

Dinner - Nilagang baboy (leftover from lunch hahaha!), 1 siomai

Did you have anything exciting to eat yesterday? Do share! Mine was boring. LOL!

I am too old to party

That's right. I just realized that recently. I am too old to party! Yikes! LOL!

When my cousins were here last week for their Indochina tour, I went out with them two nights in a row.

The first night, we went to Memphis bar along Sisowath Quay. The band playing there was Filipino. It was actually Mel, our friend who brought us there. They do play nice reggae music.

I only had two Singapore slings that night and I got so drunk real bad. Imagine that! I actually did not expect it. I have had two Singapore Slings before and I was only tipsy at worst.

Hubby told me, it was probably from dancing too. It made me more dizzy and drunk. Probably.

I woke up at 6 in the morning the following day to prepare for my son's school and the minute I stood up, the world started to turn around so fast. I ended up throwing up. Two times. Gross!!!

I tried having breakfast to fill up my empty stomach.

I ate the greasiest food - fried garlic rice, fried chicken, fried hotdog and fried egg. But it did not work. My head was still heavy and I had no choice but to stay in bed the rest of the morning.

I do declare, it was the WORST hangover ever! And I vow never to drink alcoholic beverages again while partying.

The following night, we went to Qba in Cambodiana Hotel. Guess what I drank the whole night? Just two bottles of water. Hahahaha!!!

I am really getting old. I could not party like I did when I was in my twenties. That's a fact. And in just six more days, another year will be added to my age. It's reality. Gotta accept that. LOL!

My Tuesday Thoughts

I am thinking of posting pictures of my daily lunch. It's not gourmet or anything like that. I just want to keep track what I have been eating everyday for lunch. I was planning on starting today. But guess what, I only remembered when I was half way through my meal already. I resisted the urge to take a picture of my half empty plate. It wasn't nice.

But what did I have for lunch? Well, I had a "tuna salad my style" and saltine crackers. I mixed 1 can of drained tuna with tomato, onion, garlic, a spoon of lime juice, a spoon of mayo and a pinch of salt. It was good. And healthy too.

Yeah, I am trying to be healthy again. And this time it's for real. Hahahaha!!!

~~~
I am thinking of going back to school. Probably take up Accountancy. Don't laugh. I did well with my accounting subjects back in college. So I think I can swing it. Hehehe.
According to yahoo, accounting is one of those careers that will always be in demand, wherever and whenever.
Seriously, it would be so cool to have another degree. I may not use it for work purposes, I am sure it will be beneficial if I have my own big business someday.
~~~

My birthday is coming up! I wish to receive a gadget on my birthday if not a bag. Hehehe. Why not? It's just a wish. Who knows someone might be really generous with me and grant me those wishes.

~~~
It's a nice day here in my side of the world. I wish you guys, a nice Tuesday too!
