When we were in Manila, I got in touch with our Sunlife mutual fund agent. I just wanted to know if we needed to do or sign anything because we wanted to extend our term after its maturity date.
The agent thought we wanted to withdraw the money. She said our investment has earned 66% over the last 4.5years and strongly advised us not to withdraw yet. Instead, she said, we should be investing more because the economy is "bullish".
I told her we did not have any plans of withdrawing nor investing at the moment.
We did pass up an opportunity before. The stocks were down, the economy was struggling. It would have been the perfect time to invest. But I was wearing shoei helmets, then. LOL!
Meaning, I was scared to invest because I was scared the economy would take a long time to bounce back.
I did learn something though. Take risks. We will never grow (or gain for that matter) if we don't take risks.
I think I will let our current MF grow on its own. I just hope and pray we won't have the need for it soon.
